Maggie was born and raised in Wales, so it was only natural that she set her novel in rural Ceredigion and on the coast of Pembrokeshire. She originally had the idea when she was still in her teens and carried it around in her head for fifteen years before turning it into a book. While she always wanted to be a writer, she has also worked for a French chef, as a hotel chambermaid and as a PA along the way. In addition to writing, she reads submissions for both the long- and short-list of the Bath Novel Award for unpublished and independent authors. She now lives in Bath and loves the theatre, her garden, baking and Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. Not necessarily in that order.
Last Summer of Us: Limpet, Steffan and Jared. Three best friends crammed into a clapped-out rust bucket of a car on a whirlwind road trip to forget their troubles and see out the end of the summer. But no matter how far they drive, they can’t escape the hidden secrets and slow-burning romance that could upset the balance of their friendship – perhaps forever.
